Local 137 Recommends Voting YES
UPS National and Supplemental/Rider
As you have probably heard the UPS Negotiating Committees have concluded negotiations with recommended tentative agreements. These agreements protect and improve our current members jobs and working conditions, while at the same time creating an entry level driver position to keep UPS competitive and growing new full-time Teamsters jobs. It provides for $4.15 in wage increases and great protection for your pension and health plans, with $5 an hour increases in benefit contributions, over the five-year term of the agreement.
The part-time starting rate was raised to $13 an hour with the same wage increases and benefit protections as the full timers. The new driver classification will increase full-time opportunities at over $30 and hour, with the right by seniority, to move into the top paying package jobs.
Many other language improvements were attained with no takeaways.
You will receive the offer by mail by early September, with online voting. Please read the complete offer and vote. We have also attached summary materials and two videos concerning UPS’s financial analysis and market share position. Please watch video one first.
Again, we are recommending a Yes vote and encouraging you to participate in this important contract ratification vote.
